What is a deck?
Nearly 100% of all in-ground pools are surrounded by a concrete deck for a walking or lounging surface. As the concrete ages there are many alternatives to preserve or repair it.
When should I replace the deck? Decks should be replaced when the concrete suffers from severe cracking or shifting. The deck is hammered down and removed to the dirt and then poured back per local regulations. It can be dyed for color variety or left as natural gray. If the concrete has not peeled yet, a coating might be appropriate. Coatings provide minor repair and offer extended life by sealing in the concrete for protection.
