Our subdivision uses your company for our pool maintenance – Morningbrooke Subdivision. Just wanted to tell you that I feel we have received the best service from you on the maintenance of our pool. We have lived in this subdivision from the very start (10 years plus) and didn’t swim in the pool for years because it was not kept clean. There is no hesitation in going in the pool area now due to that reason.”
Plaster
Plaster
Gunite (concrete shell) in-ground pools require a waterproof coating. The Marcite Plaster coating is comprised of varying parts white Portland Cement and marble dust. Plaster is not intended to be a slick finish. It is designed to provide you with a non-slip, long lasting pool interior. It is also not perfect or flawless. You will be able to see some indications of its “hand troweled” workmanship. A marcite plaster pool interior is a time-tested, durable pool finish, superior to any paint or fiber-tech finish.
Are there alternative finishes?
There are many options in plaster finishes other than white. Exposed aggregate finishes offer different colors of aggregate with the promise of increased durability. Dye can also be added to plaster to dramatically alter the color of the surface.
When should I re-plaster?
Re-plastering is necessary at the point where the plaster has worn away to a very rough, stained surface. Re-plastering is also necessary when the gunite shell has started to show through, offering gray spots that are susceptible to leakage and deterioration.
What is the Positively Pools difference?
Prep work is just as important as the plaster application. Our crew chisels all fittings and fixtures down ½-1” so that the new coating maintains equal thickness. The pool is then acid washed and neutralized. Finally, and most importantly, 100% of the interior is coated with a sand/cement/acrylic mixture to guarantee proper bonding of the new coating.
